Soon Huat Bak Kut Teh

Soon Huat Bak Kut Teh at Timbre+ is Soon Huat’s fifth outlet. Soon Huat’s food is highly recommended and well rated by many top food bloggers in Singapore.

Besides serving one of the most delicious Bak Kut Teh and many other Chinese cuisines, Soon Huat Bak Kut Teh is a business of second chances. They are a social enterprise founded by Jabez Tan, an ex-offender himself, and dedicated to give ex-offenders and ex-drug users a meaningful career and a new start in life.

The outlet at Timbre+ is an extension of Soon Huat’s mission to reach out to the People With Disabilities (PWD). At Timbre+, ex-offenders, who hold positions at the outlet as managers, chef, cashiers, will provide training to their PWD employees.

To understand the needs and work better with PWDs, Soon Huat has partnered up with Mr. Philip Wu, the founder/director of Without Borders Pte Ltd. It is another social enterprise that presently operates the “Entrepreneurs with Disabilities”. programs sponsored by Starhub. In addition to selling great tasting food cooked by People with Disabilities and ex-offenders, Soon Huat Without Borders hope to create programs and events at Timbre+ where people with needs can meet with innovators and social entrepreneurs.
